Amy Lane is in her fifth season as head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs.

Prior to coming to Elms College, Coach Lane served as assistant coach for both the men's and women's cross country and Nordic ski programs at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York. She helped guide the 2001 Clarkson men's cross country program to two invitational team titles - the most in its 10 years.

In the spring of 2001, Coach Lane worked as assistant girl's track coach at Potsdam (NY) High School, and qualified six athletes for the New York state championship.

Coach Lane is also currently the head coach of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Nordic ski team, where she has led the Engineers to consecutive top 10 finishes at the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) national championship during each of the past two seasons.

A four-year member of the Clarkson University women's cross country program, Coach Lane was a two-time Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) academic all-conference selection.

She earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Clarkson and a master's degree in environmental engineering from the UMass-Amherst. She currently works as a civil engineer for a private firm in Westfield, Massachusetts.

Russell Powell is in his first season as assistant coach of the men and women's cross country programs.

Coach Powell brings eight years of collegiate track and cross country coaching experience to his position at Elms College, as he served as women's indoor track coach at Mount Holyoke from 1997-1999 and head coach of the men and women's cross country programs at Amherst College from 1993-1997.

Coach Powell earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1986.
