SAAC
The Elms College Student Athlete Advisory Committee
(SAAC) is a group of 15 student athletes, consisting of one elected
or appointed representative from each intercollegiate team. The
executive board is comprised of a president, vice president and
secretary. Each team will select a representative in the spring to
serve for a one year period. A member of the athletics department
staff will serve as the advisor for the group. The SAAC will meet
bi-monthly during the school year.
All student athletes are encouraged and welcomed to attend the meetings. Any student athlete with issues they think should be addressed by SAAC should request their sport representative to bring them up at the next meeting. The purpose of the organization includes:
- To promote the interests of the student athletes and athletics teams at Elms College.
- To serve as a voice for Elms College student athletes at the conference level and national level.
- To act as an advisory body for student athlete issues and concerns wtihin the athletics department.
- To continue efforts to create more school spirit and pride for the institution as a whole and the athletics department in particular.
- To promote the implementation of community service projects for student athletes.

History of the Bolt Awards
The Bolt Awards were created by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) in 2005-06 as a way for Elms College student athletes to recognize the accomplishment of their peers at the College's annual year-end athletics banquet.
