Office of Sports Information

Elms College's Office of Sports Information promotes and publicizes each of the college's 15 intercollegiate sports teams. The primary responsibility of our sports information director, Chris Attwood, is to disseminate information to members of the media, as well as institutions that Elms College competes against.

Sports Information provides:

  • press/media relations
  • editorial releases and feature stories
  • game and special event programs
  • newsletters
  • statistical maintenance and archive record keeping
  • web-content management
  • collaborative work with Elms College's Office of Institutional Marketing

Chris Attwood was named Elms College's interim Sports Information Director in July 2009. 

Prior to Elms College, Chris spent two years at Division I Marshall University as a sports information graduate assistant.  His primary responsibilities included coverage for the women's volleyball and baseball teams.  He provided in-game statistics, designed and edited media guides, produced game programs, coordinated press releases, and maintained the web site. 

As an undergraduate at Springfield College, Chris spent his senior year interning in the Elms College Sports Information Office.  He assisted in every aspect including in-game statistics, weekly reporting, game programs, web maintenance and conference liaison.

Chris earned his bachelor's degree in communication and sports journalism from Springfield College, and his master's degree in sport administration from Marshall University.

INTERVIEW REQUESTS:
Members of the media interested in contacting any student athlete, coach or college representative are required to contact Sports Information Director Chris Attwood by email or phone during regular business hours.

Media members may also contact the Sports Information Director by cell phone after hours.

Media may not contact student athletes, coaches or college representatives without prior approval of the office of sports information.
