Office of Sports Information
Elms College's Office of Sports Information promotes and publicizes each of the college's 15 intercollegiate sports teams. The primary responsibility of our sports information director, Chris Kendrick, is to disseminate information to members of the media, as well as institutions that Elms College competes against.
Sports Information provides:
- press/media relations
- editorial releases and feature stories
- game and special event programs
- statistical maintenance and archive record keeping
- web-content management
- collaborative work with Elms College's Office of Institutional Marketing

Chris Kendrick has been hired as Sports Information Director at Elms College, as of September 9th, 2014. At Elms, Kendrick helms a sports information department responsible for covering Elms College 17 NCAA Division III athletics programs.
Prior to joining the Blazers athletics staff, Kendrick was Sports Information Director at Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida for the last two seasons. Serving as the head SID for all 15 varsity sports, During his time at Northwood, Kendrick revitalized Northwood sports information into one of the top departments in The Sun Conference. He served as host Sports Information Director for three Sun Conference championships, and had two student-athletes earn Capital One/CoSida Academic All-American status. A 2013-14 NAIA-SIDA Walt McAlexander Publication contest winner, Kendrick assisted at four NAIA National Championships.
Kendrick served as the Sports Information Graduate Assistant at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth (UMD) for two years while earning his master’s degree in Business Administration. At UMass-Dartmouth, Kendrick assisted with writing release, maintain statistics, coordination with the media, and provided the play-by-play commentary for the UMD Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams.
Kendrick began his Sports Information career as a student assistant at Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts. After a year at Curry, he transferred to the University of Montana to finish earning a bachelor’s degree in Communications while working as a sports writer for the University of Montana athletics website, covering Football and Men’s Basketball. Kendrick has experience in the professional sports world as well, working as the leader of the game day promotions team for the Missoula Osprey, a minor league baseball affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, he graduated from Sentinel High School in Missoula, Montana.

Members of the media interested in contacting any student athlete, coach or college representative are required to contact Sports Information Director Chris Kendrick by email or phone during regular business hours.
Media members may also contact the Sports Information Director by cell phone after hours.
Media may not contact student athletes, coaches or college representatives without prior approval of the office of sports information.
