About The Team

The women's volleyball program continues to develop and improve with recruiting and a focus on skill development.

In 2006, the Blazers posted a program-record seven wins and earned the team's fourth North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament quarterfinal berth in five years.

Outside hitter Chie Inoue (Kochi, Japan) became the first Blazer in the program's five-year history to be named NAC Rookie of the Year following a stellar 2006 season that saw her finish among the conference's top 10 leaders in hitting percentage, service aces, and digs. Inoue's 174 kills, 63 aces, and 273 digs all established new single-season records.

Middle hitter Melissa Clark (Chicopee, MA) knocked down 117 and added a program-record 42 total blocks, outside hitter Samantha Sitek (Belchertown, MA) added 107 kills and 62 aces, and setter Kimberly Phillips (Randolph, MA) handed out a team-record 415 assists.

In all, the Blazers established a combined 28 individual and team records in 2006.

Elms College's schedule last season featured matches against local rivals Mount Holyoke College and Westfield State College. The team also made its second straight appearance in the Seven Sisters Championship and played first-ever matches against Bryn Mawr College and Vassar College.

In addition to a highly competitive non-conference schedule, the Blazers travel to Maine and the greater Boston area for conference tri-matches each season.
