About The Team

The seven-year-old men's volleyball team continues to build and improve through recruiting and a highly competitive schedule.

Last season, the Blazers had a record-setting year, as the team won a school-record 20 matches; won the inaugural New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship; captured the school's first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) championship in any sport, and earned, for the second consecutive year, a berth into the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) Tournament.

The Blazers' 2009 schedule was highly competitive as it featured nine matches against teams ranked in the final American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 15 Coaches Poll including conference rivals Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Massachusetts), Newbury College (Brookline, Massachusetts), and Endicott College (Beverly, Massachusetts).

The Blazers had six players named All-NECC and four players earn First Team NECVA All-New England Division accolades. Sophomore outside hitter Alberto Bravo (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) and freshman outside hitter Sequiel Sanchez Velez (San Sebastian, Puerto Rico), were named NECC and New England Player and Rookie of the Year, respectively, as well as being selected Second Team All-NECVA.

Junior setter Ivan Andujar (Carolina, Puerto Rico) was a First Team All-NECC and NECVA All-New England selection. Andujar also became the first player in program-history to surpass the 3,000-assist milestone.

Elms College competes as a member of the NCAA Division III, NECC, and NECVA. Each year the NECVA's postseason tournament champion is granted an automatic bid into the four-team Molten Division III National Championship.
