WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL BATTLES PAST NEWBURY, 3-2

BROOKLINE, MA, Sept. 11, 2007 - Elms College freshman middle hitter Jeannette Nunez (Canovanas, Puerto Rico) knocked down a season-high 19 kills, added 24 digs and five aces to help the Blazers post a hard-fought 3-2 (30-24, 31-33, 30-26, 26-30, 16-14) win over Newbury College in Tuesday night's non-conference women's volleyball match at Hellenic College.

Sophomore opposite Amanda Konsewicz (Westfield, MA) added 12 kills and seven aces, while sophomore setter Kim Phillips (Randolph, MA) handed out 30 assists for the Blazers (1-1), who earned their first win over the Nighthawks in three all-time meetings.

Elms College returns to non-conference play at Simmons College on Thursday, September 13. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
