WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO VASSAR 0-3 AND BRYN MAWR 1-3

SOUTH HADLEY, MA, Oct. 7, 2006 - Elms College freshman outside hitter Chie Inoue (Kochi, Japan) recorded a combined 23 kills and 30 digs, but the Blazers fell to both Vassar College and Bryn Mawr College in the opening day of the 2006 Seven Sisters Women's Volleyball Championship at Mount Holyoke College.

The Blazers fell to Vassar 3-0 (30-10, 30-8, 30-19) in their opening match, then fell to Bryn Mawr 3-1 (30-24, 26-30, 30-19, 30-18) later in the day.

With the two losses, Elms College fell to 5-9 overall and will play in the 10:00 a.m. seventh place match against host Mount Holyoke on Sunday, October 8.

In the Blazers' loss to Vassar, Inoue knocked down four kills and added five digs, and in the loss to Bryn Mawr, Inoue 25 digs, 19 kills, and seven aces, while freshman setter Kimberly Phillips (Randolph, MA) dished out 18 assists.
