ELMS COLLEGE EARNS SPLIT OF NAC WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL MATCHES

LEICESTER, MA, Oct. 21, 2006 - Elms College freshman outside hitter Chie Inoue (Kochi, Japan) recorded a combined 19 kills and 29 digs to help lead the Blazers to a split of Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's volleyball quad-match at Becker College.

The Blazers opened with a 3-1 (30-20, 30-19, 25-30, 30-26) win over Bay Path College, then fell 3-0 (30-15, 30-16, 30-25) to Lesley University.

With the split, Elms College moved to 6-13 overall, 3-5 NAC.

In the win over Bay Path, freshman middle hitter Melissa Clark (Chicopee, MA) added eight kills, eight aces and a pair of block solos.

The Blazers return to non-conference play when they host St. Joseph College (CT) on Tuesday, October 24. Match time is 7:00 p.m. at the Maguire Center.
