Talmadge Named NECC Rookie Of The Week

TALMADGE NAMED NECC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

ATTLEBORO, MA, Jan. 5, 2009 - Elms College women's basketball freshman guard Carolyn Talmadge (Wilbraham, MA) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week on Monday, January 5.

Talmadge netted a team-high 11 points and added three assists and a pair of steals in the Blazers' 56-47 non-conference loss at SUNYIT before the holiday break back on December 15.

In Monday night's non-conference win at St. Joseph, Talmadge netted a collegiate career-high 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range.

For the season, Talmadge, who is playing 32 minutes per game, has averaged 7.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals in nine starts.
