Brogna Named NECC Player Of The Week

BROGNA NAMED NECC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ATTLEBORO, MA, Dec. 8, 2008 - Elms College women's basketball junior forward Amanda Brogna (Oxford, MA) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week on Monday, December 9.

Brogna averaged 21.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.5 blocks per contest in a 1-1 week for the Blazers that included a 49-46 win over Mount Holyoke - the team's first over the Lyons in 13 years.

Against Mount Holyoke, Brogna registered a double-double with a game-high 18-point, 12-rebound effort that also included a pair of blocks.

In a 62-46 loss to Nichols, she notched a collegiate career-high 25 points, hauled in 12 rebounds, and had two assists, two steals and a block.

For the season, Brogna has averaged a team-leading 16.3 points and 9.9 rebounds in seven starts.
