Brogna Named NECC Player Of The Week

BROGNA NAMED NECC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ATTLEBORO, MA, Jan. 26, 2009 - Elms College women's basketball junior forward Amanda Brogna (Oxford, MA) earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week on Monday, January 26.

Brogna averaged 23.0 points and 16.0 rebounds to help the Blazers to a 1-1 week. In last Thursday's conference loss at Daniel Webster, Brogna registered a game-high 26 points and 14 rebounds then followed with a game-high 20-point, 18-rebound effort to lead the Blazers to a 78-66 home conference win over Becker.

Brogna, who has recorded double-doubles in all six of Elms College's NECC games, begins the week as the conference's third leading scorer (17.2 ppg) and second-leading rebounder (11.7 rpg).
