WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO WNEC, 63-33

SPRINGFIELD, MA, Jan. 17, 2008 - Elms College sophomore guard Taeler Connor (Ayer, MA) netted a team-high six points, but Western New England senior guard Jen Dabrowski (Plainville, CT) dropped in a game-high 18 points and the Golden Bears raced out to a 28-point halftime lead en route to a 63-33 win over the Blazers in Thursday night's non-conference women's basketball game at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Elms College (5-7) lost for the third time in its last four games, while WNEC won its third straight and improved to 7-6 overall.

Dabrowski's 18-point effort vaulted her into fifth place all-time in team-history and leaves her just nine points shy of becoming the fifth WNEC player to score 1,300 points.

Senior guard Tiffany DeRosa (Hamden, CT) tallied 13 points and freshman guard Lauren Stock (Rocky Hill, CT) finished with 12 points in 18 minutes for the Golden Bears, who led 35-7 at intermission.

Elms College returns to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action when it hosts Becker College on Saturday, January 19. Tip-off at the Maguire Center is set for 3:00 p.m.
