  WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DOWNED BY THOMAS, 73-53

CHICOPEE, MA., Jan. 26, 2008 - Elms College freshman guard Justine Tokas (Enfield, CT) and sophomore Ally Wanat (West Springfield, MA) combined for 22 points, but could not stop Thomas from earning a 73-53 victory in Saturday afternoon's North Atlantic Conference women's basketball game in Waterville, Maine.

With a fourth consecutive loss Elms College has dropped to a mark of 5-11, (2-4 NAC) on the season.  The victory marks the first conference win for Thomas, who improves to 5-8, (1-7 NAC).

Tokas poured in a team high 12 points and added three steals against the Terriers.  Wanat tallied 10 points, four rebounds and two assists in the losing effort.

Thomas was led by senior guard Keren Demers (Sanford, ME), who recorded a game high 18 points and added four assists and three steals.

Elms College returns to conference play Tuesday, January 29 at Bay Path.  Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
