WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS AT HUSSON, 89-43

BANGOR, ME, Dec. 8, 2006 - Elms College sophomore guard Jenn Payton (Stratford, CT) scored a team-high 19 points, but Husson College had 16 players score, including two in double figures, as the host Eagles pulled away to an 89-43 win over the Blazers in Friday night's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's basketball game at Bangor, Maine.

With the loss, Elms College fell to 3-4 overall, 1-1 NAC. Husson improved to 4-3 overall, 3-1 NAC.

The Blazers, who trailed 44-23 at intermission, were limited to 30.8-percent shooting for the game. The Eagles, meanwhile, shot 55.1-percent, including a 13 for 20 (65.0-percent) effort in the second half.

Elms College returns to NAC play on Saturday, December 9 at Maine Maritime Academy. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
