CHICOPEE, MA, Dec. 9, 2008 - Elms College remains ranked 16th nationally in the latest men's basketball D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll announced on Tuesday, December 9.

The Blazers are one of only two Division III teams nationally that are 8-0, and the only one among the Top 25, as of Tuesday morning's poll.

Following last week's victories over WNEC (82-66), Fitchburg State (90-55) and Trinity (71-62), the Blazers are off to their first 8-0 start in program-history. 

Elms College, which earned its first-ever national ranking following a 25th place vote in this year's preseason D3hoops.com poll, received a total of 257 votes this week.

Defending national champion Washington University (7-0) received 24 of 25 first place votes to remain atop this week's poll. Wheaton (IL) (6-0), ranked fourth last week, jumped to second. Wisconsin-Platteville (7-0) and St. Thomas (5-0) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (6-1) rounded out the top five.
