THOMAS NAMED NAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CHICOPEE, MA. March 3, 2008 - Junior guard Aswad Thomas (Hartford, CT) was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, March 3.

Thomas averaged 16 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4.7 steals in three NAC tournament games to lead the Blazers to a fourth consecutive NAC title and NCAA Division III Championship birth.

Thomas poured in 19 points to lead all scorers in the Blazer's 78-53 semifinal round victory over Becker.  Thomas followed that performance by scoring a game-high 17 points to lead the Blazers to a 72-65 win over Lesley in the conference championship.

Elms College will return to play when the Blazers face the University of Scranton (19-8) in the first round on Friday, March 7 at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.  Game time has yet to be determined.
