MEN'S GOLF PLACES 2ND AT NAC CHAMPIONSHIP 

BAR HARBOR, MAINE, Oct. 14, 2006 - Elms College junior Neil Daigneault (Ludlow, MA) and senior Jim Hurlbut (Roxbury, CT) each broke 80 to help the men's golf team to a second-place standing after Saturday's first round of the 2006 North Atlantic Conference Championship at the Kebo Valley Golf Club.

Daigneault carded a team-best round of 78 and Hurlbut added a 79 for the Blazers, who registered a first-round team score of 323. Husson College, which has won two of the conference's three championships, led the seven-team field with a score of 303. Maine Farmington (325), Thomas College (340), Castleton State College (346), Becker College (355) and Maine Maritime Academy (357) rounded out the field.

The Blazers will conclude their 2006 fall season with the second round of the two-day NAC Championship on Sunday, October 15.
