BASEBALL DOWNED BY TRANSYLVANIA, 12-3

ORLANDO, FL, March 14, 2008 - Elms College freshman second baseman Mike Bedson (Moriches, NY) went 2 for 2 with a pair of doubles and sophomore pitcher Pat Moreau (South Hadley, MA) threw five-plus innings of solid relief, but Transylvania scored 10 runs over the first two innings en route to a 12-3 win over the Blazers in Friday morning's non-conference baseball game at the Disney Invitational.

Moreau yielded just one unearned run in 5.1 innings for the Blazers, who lost their sixth straight game to fall to 2-6 overall.

Transylvania plated seven runs in the first and three more in the second to built a big early lead.

Elms College concludes its spring break trip at the Disney Invitational on Saturday, March 15 with a doubleheader against Bates. Game one is set for 12:00 p.m.
