BASEBALL SWEPT BY CURRY IN DOUBLEHEADER

ORLANDO, FL, March 12, 2008 - Elms College junior outfielder Nick Mackowiak (Dudley, MA) went a combined 4 for 7, but Curry earned victories of 15-13 and 14-3 in Wednesday's non-conference baseball doubleheader at the Disney Invitational.

The Blazers, who lost to the Colonials 23-11 on Tuesday night, fell to 2-3 overall.

In the first game, freshman second baseman Albert Betances (Haverhill, MA) went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a RBI, while freshman third baseman Mike Andrews (Greenfield, MA) went 3 for 4 with a double, RBI and run scored. The Colonials plated six runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and two more in the seventh to pull away.

In game two, Mackowiak went 2 for 3 with a RBI and run scored, but Curry pulled away from a 4-3 lead with four runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and five more in the sixth.
