ATHLETICS TO HOST BLAZER MADNESS
CHICOPEE, MA, Oct. 10, 2007 - Elms
College's athletic department will hold its annual Blazer Madness
event on Wednesday, October 17.
The festivities kickoff when the men's soccer team hosts Salem State at Leary Field beginning at 3:30 p.m. The women's volleyball team follows with a 7:00 p.m. home match in the Maguire Center against Daniel Webster.
Both the men's and women's basketball teams will then be introduced immediately following the women's volleyball match. The 9:30 p.m. event will offer fans the opportunity to meet players and coaches, and enter fun contests.
As part of the evening's festivities, Elms College will also honor both the softball and men's basketball teams for qualifying for last year's NCAA Division III Championship, as well as the women's swimming team for its accomplishments at both last year's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) and New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving (NEISDA) Championships.
The Elms College Bookstore will sponsor a free raffle with a chance to win a $250 gift certificate towards the purchase of spring semester books.
Also, as part of Elms College's year-round, campus-wide campaign of Respect, fans will have an opportunity to receive t-shirts that night.
An ice cream social and bonfire that will take place on the
Keating Quadrangle for students immediately afterwards.
