CHICOPEE, MA- Elms College senior goalkeeper
Nick Pellegrini (Ludlow, MA) turned away nine
shots, but let in three quick first half goals in a 7-0 loss to
Westfield State at Leary Field in Tuesday nightl's non-conference
men’s soccer game.
With the loss the Blazers drop to 2-5 on the season while the Owls
improve to 2-4-1 overall.
Westfield sophomore Kyle Yelin (Southwick, MA)
scored two quick goals in the first period while teammate
Tim Parsons (Buzzards Bay, MA) also netted a goal
in the early going.
The Owls put the game out of reach with four second half
goals.
Elms senior Nick Bamford (Ludlow, MA) kept the
pressure on with five shots, two on goal, while junior
Chris Silva (Chicopee, MA) stood out on the
defensive end despite the losing effort.
The Blazers play next at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA on
Sun. at 2:30 p.m. in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC)
contest.
