Leland Named NECC Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week

CHICOPEE, MA – For the second straight week, Elms College freshman men’s soccer player Tavish Leland (Bridgton, ME ) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

Leland garnered his second conference accolade for his performance during the week of Oct. 26-Oct. 31. Leland helped the Blazers to a 1-1 week by nailing the game-winning goal in a 2-1 thriller against Becker on Oct. 31. He leads the squad in goals this season with five, all coming against conference competition. Elms suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 overtime loss to Rivier on Oct. 27 in earlier action last week.
