Women's Lacrosse Loses a Tough Conference Game to Rivier
NASHUA, N.H. - The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Rivier University for a conference game on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter would see Rivier score the first goal in the opening minute of play, but Elms would quickly respond following a draw control win by senior midfielder Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, N.Y.), as she would earn a free position goal moments later. As the quarter would continue, junior goalkeeper Marisa LaRocque (Agawam, Mass.) would record two saves, but the Raiders would regain the lead and add two more goals. In the final minutes of the opening quarter, Cronin would win two draw controls and take a shot, but Rivier would extend their lead to 6-1. In the second quarter, the Raiders took a shot quickly in the first seconds of the quarter that would be saved by LaRoque. However, the Rivier offense would score two goals to keep the momentum in their favor. Cronin would win her fourth draw control and take a shot, followed by a shot from junior midfielder Rachel Dort (Chicopee, Mass.), but both would be saved by the Raiders goalkeeper. For the remainder of the quarter, the two conference opponents would trade possession, as LaRocque would make a save and Cronin would add a shot. Unfortunately, Rivier would go into the halftime break with an 8-1 lead.
The third quarter would begin by Rivier scoring another pair of early goals, but sophomore attack Lily Sheridan (Ashby, Mass.) would win a draw control that would lead to a second goal by Cronin. As the quarter would continue, LaRocque would record three more saves, but the Raiders would continue to extend their lead, 12-2. In the fourth and final quarter, Rivier would continue to keep pressure on the Blazers defense, with LaRocque four saves and would win a draw control. Unfortunately, the Raiders would add three more goals and defeat Elms, 15-2.
