Men's Basketball Placed Eleventh in 2025-26 GNAC Preseason Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. - Following a vote amongst the league's head coaches, the Elms College Men's Basketball team has been selected to finish eleventh in the 2025-2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Basketball Preseason Poll, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Elms is entering their fifth season with the GNAC, when asked about competing and the outlook for the upcoming season Coach Christopher Piscioneri stated that "it is an exciting time of the year when the preseason poll comes out because you know the first game is right around the corner. The GNAC boasts some impressive teams not only at the top where there is pre-season national Top 25 buzz but I believe the middle of the conference is very competitive. We believe we're right in a pack of 4-5 teams that will be fighting for a playoff spot this year as the total playoff spots dropped from ten to eight".

The Blazers finished their season with an overall record of 6-20, with a 6-8 conference record. After being eliminated in the first round of the GNAC Tournament last year, the Elms Men's Basketball team is ready to build upon their hard work during the offseason.

Elms will start the season on the road on Friday, November 7th hosting Thomas College at 6 pm at Picknelly Arena. The Blazers will travel to Lesley University for their first road contest on Saturday, November 8th at 2 pm. Elms will also be traveling to face two Division I opponents in mid-season exhibitions; Brown University on Saturday, December 6th at 5 pm and Dartmouth College on Thursday, January 1st at 1 pm. The Blazers will open conference play on Saturday, January 10th hosting University of Saint Joseph, Conn. at 3 pm.

The 2025-26 GNAC Tournament will begin on Tuesday, February 24th for the First Round of the tournament leading up to the Championship which will be held on Saturday, February 28th in which the winning team will have a chance to qualify into the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament.
