Setting The Scene: Elms takes the field for Tuesday's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship tournament quarterfinal game with an 8-5-3 overall record and has won five of its last six games entering postseason play. The Blazers earned the third seed for the second straight season and welcome sixth-seeded Regis College to Chicopee, Mass. for their first-ever NECC Championship tournament appearance.

Scouting The Pride: Regis enters postseason play fresh off a 2-0 win over Daniel Webster College on Oct. 26. The Pride, winners of two of their last three games, are led by Adena Joseph (Stoughton, Mass.) who has scored a team-best 12 goals. Michelle Sirois (Easton, Mass.) has scored six goals against league competition this season, while Kristen Abreu (Woburn, Mass.) has netted five scores against NECC opponents and both have totaled seven goals on the season. Goalkeeper Michaela Yebba (Wakefield, Mass.) has secured 41 saves for the Pride, while Kara Donovan (Woburn, Mass.) has truned away 16 shots.

The Pride In The NECC Championship Tournament: Regis, which joined the NECC from The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) this season, is making its first appearance in the NECC postseason. The Pride posted a 4-5 league record during the 2011 campaign to lock up the sixth seed.

Scouting The Blazers: Elms begins tournament action as the third seed for the second consecutive season  and finished the regular season with an 8-5-3 overall record. Senior forward Jennifer Killion (Cambridge, Mass.) leads the team with 11 total goals and 40 for her career. She is now four goals shy of tying the program's all-time record of 44 held by Krystyna Gagne '10. Sophomore midfielder Gianna Gorneault (Springfield, Mass.) has netted 10 goals so far this season, with nine of those coming against league competition. Senior goalkeeper Kelly Callahan (Monson, Mass.) has been stellar between the pipes with 29 saves in league play, a .829 save percentage and a 0.86 goals against average.

The Blazers In The NECC Championship Tournament: In 2008, Elms earned the No. 1 seed and a first round bye in the inaugural conference tournament. After beating No. 4 Daniel Webster, the Blazers topped No. 2 Lesley University in the title game in penalty kicks. In 2009, Elms secured the second seed and a first round bye before hosting No. 3 Mitchell in the semifinals. The Mariners earned a 3-2 victory over the Blazers to advance to the championship game. Last season saw the Blazers secure the third seed and claim a 2-0 victory over No. 6 Becker College before falling to eventual champion and second seed Mitchell, 2-0 in the semifinals.
