Women's Volleyball Sweeps Lesley on the Road
LEXINGTON, Mass. - The Elms College Women's Volleyball team traveled to Lesley University for a non-conference match on Tuesday evening.
BASICS
Score: Elms College 3 (25, 25, 25) | Lesley University 0 (7, 18, 21)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening set would begin with Elms scoring 12-straight points, with the help of five service aces by junior Lilliana Simmons (Springfield, Mass.), along with kills by seniors Jaylen Holman (Las Cruces, N.M.) and Alysha Izquierdo (Holyoke, Mass.). Lesley would try to trim down the Blazers lead, but the Elms offense would continue to add to their lead, with kills from seniors Alejandra Marin (Dorado, Puerto Rico), Angelica Marks (Miami, Fla.), Simmons, and first year Naiima Mack (Baltimore, Md.), along with service aces by Marin, Marks, and first year Valeria Delgado (Cataño, Puerto Rico), to win the first set 25-7.
The second set would see the Blazers take another early lead, with the help a block by Mack, Izquierdo, and first year Samantha Haug (Union, N.J.), service aces from first years Ryan Busby (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) and Leyska Rodriguez-Melendez (Cayey, Puerto Rico), and a kill by Marin, but the Lynx would battle back quickly, bringing the score to 6-4. As the set continued, Elms would continue to keep their advantage, as kills from Marin, Busby, Haug, and Izquierdo, along service aces by Delgado, Marks, Holman, Haug, and junior Caitlyn Flynn (Colchester, Conn.), would help the Blazers win the second set 25-18, to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
The third and final set would once again start with Elms recording the first two points, with Holman adding another service ace, followed by a kill and service ace by Simmons. Lesley would continue their efforts to take a lead, by tying the set 4-4, but the Blazers offense would continue to control the momentum of the set, seeing kills from Holman, Marks, Simmons, Izquierdo, and Mack, with service aces by Delgado, Izquierdo, and Holman along with a block by Marks, to win the set 25-21 and the secure the sweep over the Lynx.
