Women's Soccer Secures Third Seed in 2012 NECC Championship Tournament

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Elms College women's soccer team earned the third seed in the 2012 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship tournament as announced by the league office on Sunday. 

The top seven teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Predetermined tie-breaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.

Due to weather concerns, the tournament schedule has been adjusted. First round games will be played on Wednesday, October 31 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals on Friday, November 2. Semifinal winners will meet Sunday, November 4 at the highest remaining seed.

Elms earned the third seed, finishing the regular season 7-9-2 overall, 6-1-2 NECC. The Blazers will host sixth seed Mitchell College (4-9, 4-5 NECC) in a first round matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 8:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
