Women’s Soccer Falls to Richard Stockton, 3-0

UNION, N.J. – Elms College freshman goalkeeper Alexa Rinaudo (Bellmore, N.Y.) notched 10 saves in her first collegiate start between the pipes, but Richard Stockton College use two second half goals to pull away to a 3-0 win over the Blazers Saturday afternoon in day two action of the Cougar Women's Soccer Classic hosted by Kean University in Union, N.J.

With the loss, Elms falls to 0-2 on the season, while Richard Stockton improves to 2-0 overall.

Elms and Richard Stockton battled to a scoreless tie over the first 27 minutes of the opening stanza before the Osprey's Danielle McKeown (West Deptford, N.J.) broke the stalemate with a goal off a corner kick service from Jess McQuillen (Tabernacle, N.J.) to give Richard Stockton a 1-0 lead.

After intermission, Jacque Becker (Hamilton, N.J.) collected the rebound off a shot and a save by Rachel Sanford (South Brunswick, N.J.) and scored on the put-back to give the Osprey's a 2-0 cushion at the 58:01 mark.

Sixteen minutes later, Richard Stockton capped the scoring when Lexi Stasi (Cranbury, N.J.) cashed in on her own rebounded shot to lift the advantage to 3-0.

The Osprey's fired 18 shots on goal and held Elms to zero shots on target in the winning effort. Elms' junior goalkeeper Hayley Zisk (Baldwinville, Mass.) entered in relief with 30 minutes to play in the contest and recorded five saves.

Elms returns to non-conference action on Thursday, Sept. 6 when it travels to Mount Holyoke College for a 6:00 p.m. contest.
