Killion's Two Goals Lifts Women's Soccer Past Mount Holyoke College, 3-1

Killion (Cambridge, Mass.) netted a pair of
goals to help lift the Blazers to a 3-1 victory over Mount
Holyoke College in Thursday night's non-conference women's soccer
game.
With the win, Elms improves to 5-9 overall, while Mount Holyoke slips to 1-12 on the season.
Twenty-three minutes into the first period, Killion put Elms ahead 1-0 when she collected a short pass from freshman forward Christina Goodchild (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and then beat the keeper for her eighth goal of the season.
Holding a 1-0 advantage 1:08 into the second half, the Blazers extended their lead to 2-0 when Goodchild struck for her third goal of the 2010 campaign after receiving a perfectly executed corner kick from freshman midfielder Ashley Venancio (Ludlow, Mass.).
Mount Holyoke cut Elms' lead in half at the 67:30 mark when Mary Cooke (Okemos, Mich.) scored on a rebounded shot that glanced off the post following a shot from Jacquelyn Archibald (Marshfield, Mass.).
Elms answered back in the 70th minute of action with its second scoring strike from a corner kick. Freshman Allyson Witaszek's (Feeding Hills, Mass.) played the corner to Killion who blasted the ball into the net for her second tally of the contest.
Blazers' freshman goalie Hayley Zisk (Baldwinville, Mass.) who entered the game in the 47th minute, made six saves to help pace Elms to its 3-1 victory.
Killion finished with five of the Blazers' nine shots on target in the winning effort.
The Blazers return to England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action on Saturday, Oct. 23 when they host Bay Path College in the squad's final regular season home game. Kick off is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
