CHICOPPE, MA- Elms College junior Alison Couture (Chicopee, MA) netted two heads up goals to help the Blazers defeat Daniel Webster 3-0 in a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) game at Leary Field Saturday afternoon.

With the win Elms climbs to 4-6 overall and a 2-1 conference record, while the Eagles' loss drops them to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in NECC play.

Elms made quick work of the Eagle defense when junior Sarah Donais (Granby, MA) sent one to the back of the net from a beautiful Kelsey Battige (Monson, MA) cross-field pass at the 13:44 mark, one of Battige’s many good looks across field. Elms used great ball control in the first half to set the tempo.

Couture got into the action scoring her first off a blocked Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) shot and headed the deflection into the net for the score to take a 2-0 advantage. Couture again took advantage of Daniel Webster goalie Amy Waller (Berlin, MA) by cleaning up a Battige shot that was deflected, but not covered, for her second goal of the game giving the Blazers a 3-0 cushion late in the game.

Waller recorded 13 saves on a day when the Blazer offense launched 30 shots, 17 on goal.

Blazer senior Vanessa Pare (Belchertown, MA) fire six shots, while freshman Nicole Wynne (Hanson, MA) and senior Serina Percoski (Westfield, MA) each tallied four. Two other Blazers recorded three.

Elms returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 6 when they travel to Framingham State in Framingham, MA. The game is set to kick-off at 3:30 p.m.
