Women’s Soccer Blanks Southern Vermont, 4-0
CHICOPEE, MA- Elms College senior
Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) scored the
game’s first goal and assisted another in the Blazers 4-0
defeat of Southern Vermont in a New England Collegiate Conference
(NECC) contest Tuesday afternoon.
The win improves Elms to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the conference,
while Southern Vermont falls to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in NECC
play.
Adding to the Blazers scoring was a first half goal by junior
Stephanie Magalhaes (Granby, MA). Elms senior
Serino Percoski (Westfield, MA) and sophomore
Erica Griffo (Solvay, NY) both netted goals in the
second half of action for the Blazers.
Elms outshot the Mountaineers 25 to 6 in the win. Southern Vermont
freshman goalkeeper Amber Mulhern (Bennington, VT)
posted 11 saves, while Blazer freshman net-minder Mollie
Corse (Bernardston, MA) tallied 3 saves in the
shutout.
The Blazers return to the field Thursday, Oct. 1 against WPI in a
non-conference game at Leary Field slated to start at 7:00 p.m.
