Elms sophomore forward Jen Killion (Cambridge, MA) got the Blazers off to a quick start when she netted her third goal of the season 17 minutes into the first half to set the score at 1-0. The sides then played to a scoreless tie for the rest of the frame.

Eleven minutes into the second stanza, Elms struck again, this time to the tune of an unassisted goal by Gagne, lifting the score to 2-0.

Junior forward Alison Couture (Chicopee, MA) pushed the Blazers’ lead to 3-0 at the 60:47 mark when she capitalized on a pass from Gagne and finished with a blast to the left side for her seventh scoring strike of the season.

Wheelock finally caught a break when a handball in the penalty box at the 86:30 mark gave the Wildcats a penalty kick. Lindsey Lacourse (Scarborough, ME) delivered on the opportunity and placed the ball in the far right-hand corner of the net, sending the score to 3-1.

Freshman goalkeeper Molly Corse (Bernardston, MA) collected two saves, while Wheelock keeper Nicole Zina (Bristol, RI) was solid in defeat, knocking away 11 shots.
