Women's Lacrosse Lose a Tough Game at Home to Colby-Sawyer
CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team hosted Colby-Sawyer College in conference action on Sunday evening at Leary Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Colby-Sawyer would score first, but sophomore attack/midfielder Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, N.Y.) would connect a pass to senior midfielder/attack Greta Frankwicz (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) to tie the game. The Chargers would then score four-straight goals to have a 5-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Colby-Sawyer offense would come out of the short break scoring two more goals, but Frankwicz would score a second goal, after receiving a pass from sophomore Rachel Dort (Chicopee, Mass.), to score her 100th career point. The Chargers would score again, but Cronin would score her first goal of the game, after finding a quick pass from Frankwicz. Colby-Sawyer would add four more goals to go into the halftime break with a 12-3 lead.
In the second half, the two conference foes would trade possession, but the Blazers defense would continue their efforts of stopping their opposing offense. In the third quarter, Cronin would fight her way through the Chargers defense to score her second goal. Then in the fourth quarter, first year midfielder Ali Sullivan (Chicopee, Mass.) would score a goal on a free position shot. Unfortunately, Colby-Sawyer would score seven more goals during the second half to secure the 19-5 victory over Elms.

Junior goaltender Katherine Ingram (Chicopee, Mass.) would make 10 saves of the 29 shots she faced, along with two ground balls.

Sophomore defender/attack Shea Barron (Wallingford, Conn.) would record eight caused turnovers and five ground balls.
UP NEXT: The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team will travel to Auburndale, Mass. to face Lasell University in a conference matchup on Wednesday, April 16th at 7 pm.
