Cronkhite Earns Best Time Against Chargers and Pride
NEW LONDON, NH - The Elms College Blazers competed in a tri-meet against Colby-Sawyer College and Regis College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Blazers made their first splash in the 50-yard backstroke where Senior Captain Ashley Cronkhite (Lewiston, ME) touched at fifth place. Sophomore Melany Boivin (Watertown, CT) and Junior Manuerida Severino (Chicopee, MA) placed seventh and eighth. First year Joni McGillis (Katy, TX) followed their performance in the 50-yard breaststroke capturing second place.
Cronkhite, Severino and Boivin had a quick turn around after the 50-yard backstroke to compete in the 50-yard freestyle. Cronkhite earned fourth place and Boivin and Severino took seventh and eighth.
McGillis dominated the 100-yard freestyle getting first place by almost three seconds. Cronkhite competed in the 100-yard backstroke where she achieved third place and a new best time. McGillis out touched the third place finisher in the 50-yard butterfly to finish second place.
The Blazers ended the tri-meet with a fourth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

"We had a solid performance today at Colby-Sawyer. After a hard week of training the team showed up ready to compete. Tomorrow we are up against another tough team, but I am confident that we will perform well. GO BLAZERS!"
UP NEXT:
-The Blazers are on the road on Saturday, 1/14 traveling to Westfield, MA to compete against the Westfield State University Owls. The Blazers will be making a splash at 1:00 PM.
