Blazers Compete in Meet Against Pride

Weston, MA - The Elms College Blazers competed in a dual meet hosted by Regis College.

The Blazers made their first splash in the 50-yard backstroke where First Year Joni McGillis (Katy, TX) placed fourth and Senior Captain Ashley Cronkhite (Lewiston, ME) touched at third place. McGillis turned around minutes after the 50-yard backstroke and out touched her competitors to achieve first place in the 50-yard freestyle. Cronkhite and Melany Boivin (Watertown, CT) place fourth and fifth. Sophomore Micheal Keefe (Milford, MA) just missed achieving a NEISDA B-cut in the 50-yard freestyle where he place third.

 

After the diving break, Cronkhite captured third place in the 100-yard freestyle. McGillis also earned second place in the 50-yard butterfly and just missed breaking the 50-yard butterfly school record. Keefe placed first in the 100-yard individual medley.

 

 

"I was happy with the results from this meet. I am looking forward to seeing Joni break the 50-yard butterfly record in the coming weeks. GO BLAZERS!"

 

 

-The Blazers are on the road on Saturday, 12/10 traveling to New Heaven CT to compete against Albertus Magnus College. The Blazers will be making a splash at 12:30 PM.
