Men's Soccer Sweeps NECC Weekly Awards

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Elms College junior forward Adam O'Grady (Somers, Conn.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week and freshman defender Connor O'Grady (Somers, Conn.) was named the league's rookie of the week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Adam O'Grady scored two goals during the Blazers NECC championship run, finding the back of the net in a 4-1 win over Southern Vermont College in the first round, and then again in Elms' 3-2 semifinal win over Mitchell College. O'Grady, the league's leading scorer, was named the NECC tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) helping the Blazers clinch their first-ever conference title and the program's first-ever birth in the NCAA Division III Championship. This is O'Grady's third NECC Player of the Week award of the season.

Connor O'Grady was named NECC Rookie of the Week for the first time in his collegiate career after scoring what proved to be the game-winner in a thrilling 2-0 victory over top-seeded Lesley University in the tournament title game. The goal came on a direct kick from 25 yards out and helped propel the Blazers to their first conference championship and the program's first-ever NCAA Division III Championship appearance.
