Men's Soccer Garners Third Seed in 2012 NECC Championship Tournament

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Elms College men's soccer team earned the third seed in the 2012 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship tournament as announced by the league office on Monday. 

The top six teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Predetermined tie-breaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.

Due to weather concerns, the tournament schedule has been adjusted. First round games will be played on Wednesday, October 31 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals on Friday, November 2. Semifinal winners will meet Sunday, November 4 at the highest remaining seed.

Elms (8-7-2, 4-2-1 NECC) earned the third seed and will host sixth-seeded Southern Vermont College (3-13, 2-5 NECC) in a first round game on Wednesday, October 31st. The winner will advance to play a semifinal contest at Mitchell College on Friday, November 2nd.
