All-Time Series: The all-time series between Elms College and Lyndon State College is tied 0-0-1 dating back to last season's inaugural meeting on Sept. 18 in Lyndonville, Vt. which resulted in a 2-2 tie in double overtime.
Setting The Scene: After starting the season with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over New England College on Sept. 3, the Blazers have since lost two-straight and will look to end their losing skid with a victory over Lyndon State. The Hornets enter Wednesday's midweek tilt fresh off a split at the SUNY Potsdam tournament on Sept. 10 and 11 which included a 3-1 victory over D'Youville.
Scouting The Hornets: In Lyndon State's 3-1 win over D'Youville, three different Hornets found the back of the net as Shane O'Donnell (Groton, Vt.) opened the scoring with an assist from Patrice Lumumba (Burlington, Vt.) at the 10:33 mark. Just over one minute later, Lumumba registered a goal of his own on a feed from Phill Curll (Camden, Maine) to give the Hornets a 2-0 lead before Quinn Rambo (Avon, Ohio) lifted the lead to 3-0 with a scoring strike off a pass from Dustin Ameden (Jamaica, Vt.) in the 33rd minute of play. Keeper Jason Marks (Newtown, Conn.) stopped seven shots and allowed just one goal in the winning effort.
Scouting The Blazers: Through the first three games of the season, the Blazers' offense has been led sophomore midfielder Adam O'Grady (Somers, Conn.) who has scored three goals, while junior midfielder Tavish Leland (Bridgton, Maine) and freshman forward Joseph Coleman (Easthampton, Mass.) have each scored twice. Elms has also seen five different players contribute with assists including one from O'Grady, and one each from senior forward Jonathan Coyne (East Longmeadow, Mass.), sophomore forward Ziggy Jonathan (Springfield, Mass.), freshman midfielder Josh DiNoto (Branford, Conn.) and freshman defender Thomas Rivers (Hope Mills, N.C.).
All-Time Saves Leader: In Elms' 6-3 loss to Springfield College on Sept. 10, Elms' senior goalkeeper Ryan Sullivan (Agawam, Mass.) needed just three saves to become the program's all-time saves leader, and finished the game with seven stops. He has now collected 296 saves for his career. Sullivan is currently ranked third in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) with saves (22).
