Swimming Returns to Competition in Virtual Meet
Chicopee, MA - The Blazers returned to competition at the Elms college Partyka Natatorium on 3/13/2021. The Blazers swam strong and posted new benchmarks for season best times.
Brittany North took to the pool first in the 50 Butterfly, touching the wall in 32.76 seconds. This was an impressive early season swim that is only 1.4 seconds away from her school record in the event. Hope Daley was the next Blazer in the water swimming the 50 Backstroke. She also swam strong considering the timing of this meet, only 1.1 seconds away from her personal best time.
Cricket Cavar was the next Blazer to compete, also in the 50 Backstroke. Cricket had a wonderful swim taking 2.2 seconds off of her personal best time in the event. The 50 Backstroke concluded with Brittany North touching at a 35.15 - also just a fraction of a second away from her personal best time.
The meet moved onto the 50 Breaststroke, where Hope Daley was the lone Blazer in the event. Daley touched the wall at 48.84 clocking a new season best time in the process. Cricket Cavar was also the lone Blazer in the 50 Free where she finished in 33.53 seconds which is a fraction of a second away from her current season best time as well.
The meet came to a close with the 100IM, and all three Blazer swimmers raced the event. Brittany North touched in 1:17.61, Cricket Cavar in 1:24.22 and then Hope Daley in 1:49.25. Just as they were for the earlier events, the trio all came close to either season or personal best times in the event.
The Blazers return to competition on Thursday 3/25/2020 for another virtual Intrasquad meet beginning at 7:15pm.
