ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College junior Kathleen Tuechler (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week, announced by the league office Monday. Tuechler receives her first Player of the Week honor, while the Blazers take home their third weekly award of the season.

Tuechler, a starting defender, flexed her offensive muscles with a pair of goals in both of the Blazers victories last week. In a 5-0 win over Newbury, Tuechler netted the game-winner in the 12th minute of play, followed by another strike to give Elms a 3-0 lead during the contest. At Southern Vermont, Kathleen scored a pair of goals in a four-minute span, including the game-winner, to send the Blazers to a 3-0 victory. For the season, Tuechler has tallied 11 points with five goals and an assist.

Tuechler and the Blazers will look to extend their win streak to four games with an NECC road trip to Bay Path University Tuesday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m.
