Jackie Soucia Receives ECAC Honors

DANBURY, Conn. - Elms College freshman Jackie Soucia (Belchertown, Mass.) was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon. The award follows Soucia New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week award, and is her first time receiving both honors.

Soucia contributed in all three games for the Blazers during a 2-1 week of conference play. In a 19-5 win over Bay Path, Soucia registered her first career hat trick while taking six draw controls from the center circle. At Daniel Webster, Jackie added a goal and four ground balls. In a battle at Wheelock, Soucia tallied a pair of goals with an assist. For the week, Soucia netted six goals with nine draw controls, eight ground balls, and an assist.

Soucia and the Blazers will return to the field Thursday afternoon in non-conference action at Massachusetts Maritime. Face off is slated for 7:00 p.m.
