Softball Donates Toys in Vernon, Conn.

VERNON, Conn. - Members of the Elms College softball program donated toys to the Toys for Tots organization through the Vernon, Conn. station 441 firehouse on Monday, December 17. 

First year softball player Sarah Carpenter (Vernon, Conn.) helped lead this amazing night, as she and her Mom Diane have been organizing this event for the past 16 years.

"Having my teammates here was a great experience," Carpenter said. "I know they enjoyed their time giving toys to needy families." 

Head softball coach Cheryl R. Condon said that in light of the recent tragedy in Newtown, Conn., it was especially wonderful that her players could help add joy and happiness to children at this special time of year.
