Men's Volleyball Wraps Up the 2026 Season in the GNAC Quarterfinals at Emmanuel
BOSTON, Mass. - The Elms College Men's Volleyball team traveled to Emmanuel College for the Quarterfinal Round of the 2026 GNAC Men's Volleyball Tournament.
BASICS
Score: Elms College 0 (10, 19, 19) | Emmanuel College 3 (25, 25, 25)
Records: Blazers 15-14, 3-4 (GNAC) | Saints 12-13, 4-3 (GNAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set would see first year Joe Culhane (Agawam, Mass.), juniors John Bellafronte (Enfield, Conn.) and Nick Uschmann (Agawam, Mass.) each record a kill for Elms, but Emmanuel would take control of the set out scoring the 18-5. As the set would continue, first years Chris Bousquet (Springfield, Mass.) and Juan Jones (Springfield, Mass.) would each record a kill, but the Saints would win the set 25-10.
The second set would begin with Elms adding three kills from first year John Centeno Pagan (Manatí, P.R.) and senior Rafa Artero (Madrid, Spain), but the two conference foes would then battle for the lead for the remainder of the set. The Blazers would see a block by Artero and sophomore Hunter Ladouceur (Wilbraham, Mass.), and a combined seven kills from Uschmann, Bellafronte, and Centeno Pagan, but Emmanuel would win the second set, 25-19, and take a two set lead.
The third and final set the Saints would start the set by scoring two early points, but the Elms offense would continue to put their efforts forward, with Uschmann recording four more kills, along with three kills by Culhane, Artero adding two kills, a kill from Centeno Pagan, and a block by Artero and Uschmann. Unfortunately, Emmanuel would win the set 25-19 and would defeat the Blazers in a three set sweep to advance to the GNAC semifinal round.
