WOMEN'S SWIMMING NARROWLY FALLS AT MOUNT ST. MARY (NY), 99-86
NEWBURGH, NY, Jan. 10, 2009 - Elms College freshman Kiely Hultgren (Windsor Locks, CT) and sophomore Theresa Pitassi (Naugatuck, CT) each won a pair of events, but host Mount St. Mary (NY) was victorious in the final relay to pull out a thrilling 99-86 win over the Blazers in Saturday's women's swimming dual meet at Newburgh, New York.
Hultgren was solid in the distances, as she posted winning times in both the 500 and 1000-yard freestyles, while Pitassi was a double winner in the 50 and 100-yard freestyles.
Elms College lost its third straight and fell to 1-8 overall, while Mount St. Mary improved to 3-3.
The Blazers return to home action next Saturday, January 17 when they host UMass-Dartmouth. Meet time at Partyka Natatorium is 11:00 a.m.
