WORCESTER, MA, Oct. 24, 2008 - Elms College freshman Ashley Arbo (Rocky Hill, CT) won an event and placed second in another to highlight the Blazers' 179-45 season-opening loss to Assumption in Friday night's women's swimming meet at the Plourde Recreation Center Pool.

Arbo was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke in a New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship qualifying time of 1:09.03 while placing second in the 50-yard freestyle (27.82).

In all, the host Greyhounds  (2-0) won 11 of 12 total events, including both the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relays.

Elms College returns to action on Saturday, November 1 when it travels to Mount Holyoke for a tri-meet that includes the host Lyons and Clark. Meet time is 2:00 p.m.
