BOSTON, MA, Oct. 11, 2008 - Elms College freshman forward Jen Killion (Cambridge, MA) netted a pair of goals and the Blazers scored five times in the opening 15 minutes en route to a 7-0 shutout win over Wheelock in Saturday's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer game at Winsor Field.

Elms College won its fifth straight to improve to 6-6 overall and remain atop the NECC standings at a perfect 6-0. Wheelock fell to 2-9-1, 1-4-1 NECC.

Junior midfielder Vanessa Pare (Belchertown, MA) scored just 2:20 into the game to give the Blazers a quick 1-0 lead.

Junior forward Serina Percoski (Westfield, MA), sophomore midfielder Alison Couture (Chicopee, MA), senior defender Alicia Bobbie (Higganum, CT) and junior forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA) all scored over the next 12:26 to give the Blazers a commanding 5-0 lead.

Killion followed with her first goal of the game - fourth this season - in the 29th minute to provide the Blazers with a 6-0 lead at intermission.

Killion added her fifth goal of the season in the 69th minute to conclude the scoring.

Freshman goalkeeper Kelly Callahan (Monson, MA) stopped nine shots to post the shutout for Elms College, which outshot Wheelock 16-10.

Elms College returns to non-conference play when it hosts Framingham State on Tuesday, October 14. Game time at Leary Field is 6:00 p.m.
