WOMEN'S SOCCER DOWNS DANIEL WEBSTER, 6-0
NASHUA, NH, Oct. 4, 2008 - Junior forward Krystyna Gagne (Methuen, MA), sophomore midfielder Alison Couture (Chicopee, MA) and freshman forward Jen Killion (Cambridge, MA) scored two goals apiece to power Elms College past host Daniel Webster, 6-0 in Saturday's New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer game at Eagle Field.
Senior goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) added four saves to notch her second straight shutout as the Blazers improved to 4-6 overall and remained undefeated (4-0) in NECC play.
Elms College, which outshot the Eagles 29-8 overall including 18-4 on goal, scored four times in the first half to take control.
Gagne got the Blazers going with an unassisted tally 3:31 in, and Couture followed at the 10:11 mark for a 2-0 edge.
Gagne added her second of the day - 10th this season - 5:26 later and Couture added her second at the 27:45 mark for a 4-0 advantage.
Killion closed out the scoring with a pair of second half goals in the 58th and 75th minutes.
Amy Waller (Berlin, MA) made 12 stops in goal for the Eagles (4-4, 2-2 NECC).
Elms College returns to NECC play when it hosts Southern Vermont on Wednesday afternoon. Game time at Leary Field is 4:00 p.m.
