WOMEN'S SOCCER EDGES MAINE MARITIME IN OVERTIME, 1-0
CASTINE, ME, Oct. 21, 2007 - Elms College freshman midfielder Alison Couture (Chicopee, MA) netted a goal eight minutes into overtime to give the Blazers a victory over Maine Maritime 1-0 in Sunday's North Atlantic Conference women's soccer game at Maine Maritime.
Couture scored the game winner when she gathered a loose ball in traffic and lofted a shot that beat the Mariner goalkeeper.
Junior goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) was called upon to make 3 saves in the winning effort.
With the victory Elms College finishes the regular season with a record of 6-9-1, 5-4-1 NAC. Maine Maritime completes the regular season with a mark of 9-7, 4-6 NAC.
