Jessica Cockshaw
Elms College sophomore softball player Jessica Cockshaw
(Palmer, Mass.) was selected as this week's female student
athlete spotlight.
Entering her second season as a member of the Blazers' softball program, Cockshaw is a nursing major at Elms.
In her debut season, Cockshaw saw action in two games for Elms as a pinch-runner and scored a run during the Blazers' 20-17 season that culminated in berth in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship game.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moments are when the opposing team underestimates me. I love to prove people wrong.
Who has been your biggest influence in sports and why:
My dad because he's always been an inspiration to me and supports me through everything.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
I like to travel to all new places and experience new things.
Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:
What is your favorite sports book or movie:
My favorite movie is The Replacements because it gives passed over athletes a chance to shine and is about playing for the love of the game.
