CHICOPEE, MA, Dec. 2, 2008 - Elms College is currently ranked 16th nationally in the latest men's basketball D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll announced on Tuesday, December 2.

The Blazers are off to their first 5-0 start in program-history following victories over Regis (83-66), Springfield (73-63), Maine-Presque Isle (110-44), Maine-Farmington (81-67) and Westfield State (91-86) over the season's first two weeks. 

Elms College, which earned its first-ever national ranking following a 25th place vote in this year's preseason D3hoops.com poll, received a total of 189 votes to jump nine spots.

Defending national champion Washington University (5-0) received 23 of 25 first place votes to remain atop this week's poll. Wisconsin-Whitewater (5-0), Augustana (3-1), Wheaton (IL) (3-0) and Wisconsin-Platteville (6-0) rounded out the top five.
